Honeycrisp Apple Scionwood
Honeycrisp Apple Scionwood
Honeycrisp was released in 1991 by the University of Minnesota and quickly became one of the most popular apples in North America. Bred for exceptional texture and cold hardiness, it set a new standard for fresh-eating quality.
Fruit is medium to large with mottled red over a yellow background. The flesh is explosively crisp, juicy, and well-balanced—sweet with a refreshing hint of acidity. Honeycrisp is best enjoyed fresh but also holds its texture well in salads and light baking. Ripens mid-season (mid- to late September in the Midwest) and stores well under proper conditions.
Trees are moderately vigorous and benefit from careful thinning to ensure annual production and optimal fruit size.
