Jonathan Apple Scionwood
Jonathan Apple Scionwood
Jonathan is a classic American apple introduced in the early 1820s in New York. Renowned for its rich flavor and versatility, it has been a favorite for fresh eating, baking, and cider for generations.
Fruit is medium-sized with bright red skin over a yellow background. The flesh is crisp, juicy, and tangy, offering a balanced sweet-tart flavor. Jonathan apples hold their shape well when cooked and store reasonably for mid-season varieties. Ripens mid-season (September in the Midwest).
Trees are moderately vigorous, productive, and reliable with proper care.
