Redhaven Peach Scionwood
Redhaven Peach Scionwood
Redhaven was introduced in 1940 by the Michigan State University in South Haven and remains one of the most widely planted peaches in North America. It set the standard for cold hardiness, reliability, and balanced flavor in northern climates.
Fruit is medium-sized with bright red blush over golden skin. The flesh is firm, smooth, and richly flavored—sweet with a pleasant tang. Redhaven is a freestone variety, making it excellent for fresh eating, canning, freezing, and baking. Ripens mid-season (late July to early August in the Midwest).
Trees are vigorous, productive, and known for consistent cropping when properly thinned.
